Pacific Coast Steel (PCS) announced the conclusion of the purchase of Century Steel, Inc./Century Reinforcing, Inc., the newly expanded PCS will have nearly 2,250 employees, including over 1,800 field ironworkers, making it the largest reinforcing steel subcontractor in the Western United States. PCS will expand from 8 offices to 15, encompassing 10 states and will operate ten reinforcing steel fabrication facilities and two structural steel facilities with annual capacity in excess of 600,000 tons.
Eric Benson, PCS’s President and CEO, said “This transaction combines two very solid, well-run companies. By bringing together our collective resources it will allow us to continue our tradition of superior customer service and enable us to service those customers across an even broader geographic footprint.”
Todd Leany will take on his new role as Executive Vice President, with primary responsibilities for the Nevada, Utah and New Mexico reinforcing and steel operations. Mr. Leany commented “This is an exciting opportunity for both our employees and customers.”
